The 4th Conference of Experts in Library and Information Fields from China and Arab Countries & the First Silk Road International Library Union Conference will be held in Hangzhou from August 31 to September 3, 2021.
According to the "Action Plan of the China-Arab States Cooperation Forum 2020-2022", and after discussing with the Arab League Secretariat, the National Library of China plans to hold the The 4th Conference of Experts in Library and Information Fields from China and Arab Countries in Hangzhou on September 1, 2021. The conference is held every two years alternately in China and the member states of the Arab League. Zhejiang Library will organize the conference in an online and offline combined manner on September 1, 2021. Representatives of the Arab League Secretariat, directors of national libraries in the Arab region, and directors of representative libraries in China will be invited to the conference to discuss "regional exchanges and cooperation of libraries under the conditions of normalization of the epidemic".
This China-Arab Conference is to be hosted by the National Library of China and the Arab League Secretariat with Zhejiang Library as the organizer.
In order to effectively implement Belt and Road Cultural and Tourism Development Action Plan during the 14th Five-Year Plan, and give full play to the role of the Silk Road International Library Alliance in promoting the coordinated development of library international affairs, the National Library of China is scheduled to launch on September 2, 2021, in Hangzhou, the First Silk Road International Library Alliance Conference, in an online and offline combined manner. Representatives of existing member institutions of the alliance, new members or institutions intending to join the alliance will attend the conference to discuss the constitution of the alliance and convene the third Silk Road International Library Alliance Forum themed "building a new future for libraries in countries and regions along the Belt and Road.
The alliance conference is to be hosted by the National Library of China and Zhejiang Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism with Zhejiang Library as the organizer.
