Services for key readers

I. To make full use of our library’s documents and information resources and embody the principle of differentiated service of our library, our library specially established Key Reader Service Center.

II. Key reader should be a “151” talented person and principal of major research project or main manager of important organs and large and medium-sized enterprise and public institutions, with deputy senior title or above and projects at above provincial-level.

III. Key readers are developed among readers who meet the above requirements and hold our library card (which contains functions of regular or reference library cards), and must be applied in person and recommended by employer, and are qualified after examined and approved by our library. (Academicians of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and Chinese Academy of Engineering who hold reference library card can become key readers without application).

IV. Key readers who hold regular card or reference reader’s card can enjoy the following book borrowing services:

1. Regular key readers can borrow up to 10 Chinese books (which can be extended to 16 books if periodicals, CDs and other non-book materials are not borrowed) with a loan period of 90 days and can get one renewal for a period of 30 days. You can make reservation for borrowing a maximum of three books.

2. Key reference readers can borrow up to 10 Chinese books (which can be extended to 16 books if periodicals, CDs and other non-book materials are not borrowed with a maximum of five Chinese and foreign books) with a loan period of 90 days and can get one renewal for a period of 30 days. You can make reservation for borrowing a maximum of three books.

V. Key readers can also enjoy the following services:

1. Undertakers of research projects at municipal-level, provincial-level, ministerial level or above can get access to storage and make reservation for borrowing by phone (Call: 0571-87988612).

2. Academicians of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and Chinese Academy of Engineering can making an appointment by phone and enjoy home delivery service.

VI. Key readers are obliged to report their progress and achievements in research, production, education and management to our library and submit copies of relevant materials.

VII. Key reader should abide by all rules of our library. Key reader will be disqualified in the following situations:  

1. A grave breach of rules and regulations of our library.

2. Haven’t used our library’s documents for over six months.

3. Have completed all research projects and have no new research project for over six months.
