A few days ago, the one and a half years’ “Seminar of Song Tao Calligraphy Studio of Artist’s College of China Art Weekly” came to a successful conclusion, and over 80 calligraphy works of 10 mentors and 13 students will be presented to readers in Zhejiang Library.
Since the official launch of the “Artist’s Studio of China Art Weekly” in June 2011, it has begun to invite masters having a wide range of influence and appeal in Chinese art circle to be mentors. The seminar, by adhering to the teaching philosophy of “cultivating theoretical literacy, clarifying innovative ideas, providing artist practice, upgrading works, and creating a display platform”, combines thematic calligraphy research and creative practice, which is not limited to the level of calligraphy technique and calligraphy history, but also contains many philosophical and aesthetic connotations.
