The Dates of Statues of China Temple, which was edited by Zhejiang Library, chief-edited by Zhao Daxiong and programmed by Chen Ye and lu Bo, is made its first appearance online officially today. We welcome readers come from all over the world to make remark about it, especially experts’ who come from circles of Confucianism, Buddhism and Daoism. Buddhism, which was introduced into China over two thousands years, coexist well with local Confucianism and Daoism. Devotional statues which in temples of Buddhistic, Daoistic, ancestral and Grottoes all over the China showed styles of different times, regions, schools of thoughts and different materials. The inheritance witnessed the Chinese culture context with a long history and lively represented traditional culture of extensive, profound and heavy. It has higher culture interpretation, scholarship study, history discovery, increasing knowledge; promote mentality and value of artistic aesthetic appreciation. The purpose of this dates was to collect the galaxy of statues in the temples all over the country (included destroyed or driftage overseas), which covered all kinds people of God, Buddha, Dao, Confucian and first Chinese ancestor or great names in history. The item of dates had the people of statue with name, alternative name, brief, the place of oblation (with the name of place and temple), time, quality, material (like clay, metal, stone, jade, wood, jianing, out of solid lacquer), size and the source of image. The dates adapted homemade programming software with function of multipoint intelligent retrieve and a dynamic supplement and revision. The database will be finished finally before August 2013, and it is definite that the DVD-ROM will be published by Zhejiang Electronics Audio &Video Publisher.
