Library services week in 2010 was officially opened on may 24th. Meanwhile, Library service activities were also developed in the branch libraries and the circulation stations Including lectures, reading, exhibitions had rich contents and various forms.

May 25th to 26th, Wenlan Forum series, “the special counseling seminar of building the learning group of the Party”, “specific lecture of talking about Chinese culture of reading” were held in the meeting room of Shenshi County Party Committee. They was hosted by Zhejiang Library and government of Shenshi County and organized by Shenshi Branch of Zhejiang Library. The principal speakers invited include: Dr. Wang jingyu, associate professor of Politics Department of Party school of Zhejiang Provincial Party Committee, director of Scientific Socialism Association of Zhejiang Province. Professor Yuanyi, research librarian of Zhejiang Library, the director of Local Collection Department, the secretary general of Library Society in Zhejiang Province, director of Academic Committee of Library Society in Zhejiang Province. About 400 participants attended the lecture: including party work workers, party members and the office workers.

In early May, “the rejuvenating China theme reading activities” were jointly hosted by Zhejiang Library and a prison in Zhejiang province. Zhejiang Library set the donation box in service hall, made a written proposal on collection health or useful books for prisoners since June 2006. On May 10th morning, Gu yun and Xu rongwu, respectively the director and deputy director of books services department delivered 1000 volumes books collected to prison policemen. We are grateful to readers interested in the activities! At the same time we also hope that more readers will participate in the activities in order to provide more health or useful books for the prisoners, and do our best to achieve the goal: building restful Zhejiang, establishing a big cultural province and Building a harmonious society.

Beginning on May 21st,The photo exhibitions of 2010 Shanghai Expo organized by the Zhejiang Library were displayed in different circulation stations. The exhibition consists of 91 display boards. The exhibition generally introduced the history of the Expo, the Expo knowledge and the overview of 2010 Shanghai Expo. They include the planning of the Expo site, the graphics and design concept of China Pavilion, the Expo Axis and other national pavilions, example display of part of the Urban Best Practices Area display case, etc. The exhibition had detailed content and diverse subjects and attracted the great concern of general public, readers and students. Children also came in flocks to the exhibition, and recorded the content by pen and paper. The exhibition create a good atmosphere of understanding of the Expo, participating in the Expo, dedicating the Expo and sharing the Expo. The exhibition promoted the new spirit of the times: spreading civilized manners, promoting civilized new customs, building civilized society and the highest civilized the Expo.
