Notice on Services of Zhejiang Province Barrier-Free Service Center for Visually Impaired Persons

Collections: books written in braille, big-character books, talking books, and barrier-free films.

Form of services: documents for blind persons, borrowing of equipment, broadcasting of barrier-free films, training for blind persons, home delivery, and visually impaired experience, etc.

Reading requires: Your reader’s card of Zhejiang Library and ID card.

Opening hours: Tuesday through Sunday 9:00 AM-5:00PM (including national holidays).

1. Reading and borrowing books require your reader’s card of Zhejiang Library.

2. The center is equipped with computers designed for visually impaired readers, sunny voice software, Braille magnifier software, braille display, and braille copier for the use of people with different level of eyesight and different learning mode.

3. According to needs of blind readers, blind readers can acquire personalized services, including library card registration for free, consultation, reservation, pick-up, door-to-door service, mailing service, inter-library borrowing in the province, DIY audio documents, and face-to-face reading, with disability certificate.

4. With multimedia playing system of the Center, our library carries out training programs for blind people, “Soul Reading” reading party, inspirational lectures, entertainments, and theme events, etc. on an irregular basis.

5. Please take good care of all documents and public properties and respect and protect intellectual property. Please don’t annotate, tamper, fold, smear, cut or tear documents. Please don’t shoot documents or take documents outside the reading room without authorization, the violators will be handled in accordance with relevant regulations of our library.

6. Reading room advocates civilized behavior. Please keep a quiet, clean and neat environment for reading. No smoking, no spitting; please don’t take food or beverage to the reading room; please put your belongings on a locker, and put cap and rain gear on designated place to avoid damage to books; please don’t occupy the seat for long rest or sleep; please don’t put rain gear on reading table, chair or bookrack; please discard waste paper or other rubbish on trash basket (can).

7. Please take good care of your belongings to prevent against unnecessary losses. Please keep your laptop, wallet, cellphone and other valuable belongings with you all the time. Please take your belongings away when you leave the reading room.
